Kaleb Nation is on the road this week, to promote his new book Bran Hambric. He was home-schooled as a child, and had the idea for Bran Hambric on a late March night during his fourteenth year. He began writing the story, and about six years later, it is finally a published book. Mr. Nation had started a site called Twilight Guy, which is pretty much what it says. His website was about a guy who was reading the Twilight Saga. His site was relatively small, until Stephenie Meyer gave her unofficial seal of approval to the site. The site was huge. He finished reading Breaking Dawn, the last book in the series recently, but since he's had such a good time with the site, he isn't saying goodbye quite yet. Q. You have a dedicated following online ... but for readers who don't know -- tell us briefly, in your own words, what they can expect from Bran Hambric: The Farfield Curse?
A. Bran Hambric: The Farfield Curse is the story of a boy who was found locked in a bank vault at six years old with no memory of his past. Years later, when he is fourteen, he discovers that he is at the center of an enormous plot surrounding the crimes of his mother, and that her former masters are now searching for him to complete the curse she left unfinished. It's a modern fantasy story set in an alternate world, so if you like magic mixed with crime and car chases, you'll like Bran Hambric!
Q. For many teens hoping to become writers, you're living the dream. What advice would you give to other aspiring authors?
A. Keep writing! There are some hard times when you're trying to write a book with little hope of publication. There will be many black days where you just don't feel like writing anything at all, but if you don't give up and you keep going, you'll work through the hard times, and it will all pay off in the end!
Q. Bran Hambric is about to hit stores, and you're done reading Breaking Dawn for TwilightGuy.com. So what's next for you?
A. I think now that TwilightGuy.com is almost complete, I will really be focusing a lot more on my own writing and on YouTube videos, which I really enjoy making! I'll still be a part of the Twilight fandom via YouTube and my other blog, though not quite as active as I've been the past year.
