Okay, we've all heard one of these stories one way around or the other. We've heard how, some crimes have vampire-like qualities, and the Twilight Saga has been blamed for encouraging such acts and behaviors. An Examiner writer, wrote an article on this and here's stories she shared:
In one crime, an Ohio teen was charged with murder and kidnapping after luring an older boy to a home where he was beaten and stabbed. Two adult men, reported to be lovers of the charged teen, claimed that they are vampires and used the teen to lure the victim to the location.
Another crime involves a man who met his victim on the website Vampirefreaks.com. According to CNEWS, the 44 year old bisexual vampire freak is accused of sexually assaulting the 14 year old girl. This is the second such crime in which the victim and attacker met through Vampirefreaks.com. A 28 year old man was accused of taking sexual pictures of a 13 year old girl he met on the same website.
In Des Moines, Iowa in March, 2009, a 13 year old boy bit 11 classmates. The Des Moines Register reported that the boy bit the classmates over several days. When a classmate reported the attacks, the boy's father claimed the boy didn't mean to
hurt anybody and was inspired by the movie Twilight. A curious response
considering most toddlers are aware that biting hurts.
In Lake Stevens, Washington, school officials had to quell concerns that the town was awash with vampires. According to the story published in the Daily Herald, a girl hugged a boy. Once the story made it from one end of the playground to the other, the story was now that the boy had bite marks all over his face and needed to be pulled from the woods.
