Twilight fans might remember a time when director Paul
Weitz was in the rumor mill for The Twilight Saga:
Eclipse's director (in the days before David Slade, of course). That's because he is the brother and oft-times
co-worker and collaborative teammate to The Twilight Saga: New
Moon director Chris Weitz.
Paul Weitz spoke with MTV about his forthcoming picture
entitled The Vampire Chronicles (based on Cirque du Freak), and he also took the
time to discuss his brother's work on the Twilight series and whether either
Weitz would be available for The Twilight Saga: Breaking
Dawn.
One interesting detail, you might agree, is the fact
that an affiliation with vampire films runs in the family. According to Weitz,
his 99-year-old grandmother is the veteran of a Spanish 1930 version of
Dracula.
His suggestion that Chris Weitz might come back for Breaking Dawn is
littered with obvious humor, but it is probably one which many fans would be
agreeable to, given the fantastic portfolio of film segments seen so far from
New Moon.
